Technical assistance can be useful if you are introducing quality improvement (QI) to your organisation or project for the first time, or if you are preparing to use a new quality improvement tool.
IQhiv is an international and multidisciplinary initiative with a wide range of knowledge and experience in the field, and can provide or link you to experts who can assist you.
Technical assistance may be provided through email and telephone contact or in person during site visits.
It can range from simply listening to your plans and giving specific advice (coaching), to organisational training workshops and even the design and implementation of an entire quality improvement process.
Technical assistance works best if it is tailored to your particular situation and needs.
You can contact the IQhivproject consultants to help you define and describe what kind of assistance you need.
If you proceed, the cost of technical assistance will be negotiated between you and the expert you choose to provide the assistance.
You could, for example, use your existing training budget, additional grants from your current funding bodies or make an application to a special governmental or donor-based program to help cover the cost of technical assistance.
